Food was delicious drink selection was excellent service was brilliant as well we were made to feel at home the minute we walked through the door will definitely go again.

We were made welcome the moment we stepped through the door the service was excellent the food was outstanding good value for money will definitely go here again in the future.

The food was delicious, drinks choice is extensive and water was served in a carafe with glasses served with ice.....all very enjoyable.

As we were going to the theatre, we booked in advance for 5pm and felt rushed to have a drink, starter and main course before having to leave to be on time for the show.

Online the pre-dinner menu claimed you could have a two course meal comprising any of the 3 courses, starter, main or dessert however the only combination available on the night was starter and main.

Situated in Edinburgh’s Southside, Rigatoni’s by the Queens serves up Italian cuisine, just the way it's done back in the chef’s native Italy.

With its traditional decor, Rigatoni’s feels just like an Italian trattoria, and the authentic cuisine you’ll find on the menu here only adds to it.

Using a recipe passed down from his Nonna, Rigatoni's head chef whips up Neapolitan pizzas with a special base that you won’t find anywhere else in the city, as well as some hearty Italian pasta dishes, from lasagna to bolognese and ravioli, you’ll find all of the time-honoured favourites here.

Located on South Clerk Street in Edinburgh’s Newington, Rigatoni’s is a failsafe favourite among the area's Italian aficionados.

The Scots-Italian culinary tradition is a long and storied one, and the number of Italian restaurants in huge.

One of the best exponents of the genre in Edinburgh can be found on Causewayside in Newington in the form of Sambuca Restaurant, where they have been building a reputation for themselves over the fifteen and a bit years that they have been in business.

Their loyal cadre of customers come back time and again to enjoy what Sambuca have to offer, particularly in the range of seafood dishes.

Seafood is a house speciality at Sambuca, and their signature dishes include plenty of it.

Book a table at Sambuca and make the journey over to Causewayside in Newington for a full on Italian feast in Edinburgh.

food

Nestled within picturesque Marchmont, The Birchwood is an equally as picturesque cafe, decorated with rustic wooden benches, pretty pastel colours and vintage-style tableware, serving up brunch, dinner and speciality coffee.

Pop in for brunch and you could feast on some eggs benedict, some homemade pancakes or the Beauty School Dropout (cinnamon french toast with poached apples, toffee sauce, toasted nuts and creme fraiche).

With its close proximity to Edinburgh University, The Birchwood is a favourite among the city’s student population as well as locals with its charming decor, hearty international cuisine and home baked cakes.

You’ll find it on Marchmont Road – booking in advance is recommended.
